The Culinary Experience
Dine luxuriously, in a setting with beautiful décor, welcoming staff, seated with friends, neighbors or relatives, enjoying exceptionally prepared food. This is the Princeton Windrows Culinary Experience.
Our Culinary Philosophy
Our culinary staff strives to anticipate, meet and exceed the needs of all our residents, balancing their wishes for both formal and casual fine dining. Our aim is 100% satisfaction. Our staff is knowledgeable and passionate about a variety of cuisines, is dedicated to providing exceptional service, and is always focused on the health and well being of the Windrows community.
In the warm summer months, we keep the cuisine on the lighter side, and our seasonal menus offer both favorite American and international dishes. Our Theme Nights on the third Thursday of every month are very popular, and have ranged from our "Casablanca Soiree" to "Farm-to-Table" to "A Taste of Mexico."
We are proud that we buy locally to support family farms and small businesses, not food factories. Our purveyors are the best farms and suppliers offering locally-grown produce, humanely-raised animals, and locally-harvested seafood. The meat and poultry we serve are antibiotic- and hormone-free, and chickens were raised cage-free. Our milk products and beef come from cows allowed to roam free. Whenever possible, we use organic produce, and we continue offering vegetarian and vegan menu options.
What Our Residents Love
On weekends, Windrows' famous crab cakes, served on Friday evenings, are always in demand, and prime rib on Saturday nights is also very popular with residents and their guests. And entertain your children, grandchildren or special guests at our Sunday Brunch.
We celebrate a variety of holidays with festive décor, special dishes and live entertainment. In addition, Princeton Windrows' Culinary Committee ensures that fun meals with special themes are a hit, such as Asian, Jewish delicatessen, Italian and seafood delicacies. There's always something for everyone on our Menu, which our executive chef updates daily.
Princeton Windrows offers gluten-free and vegan menu options. Our chef can tantalize even the most discriminating palates, so whatever your culinary desires or needs, our expert staff and first-class servers aim to please. And if you'd like to share some of your family recipes with our chef, he'd be happy to read them. And who knows? They might end up on our menu!
Last, if you prefer to dine at home by ordering take-out, or having it delivered, or if you wish a catered experience while hosting a gathering in your home, these options are also part of the Princeton Windrows Culinary Experience.
Dining Options at Princeton Windrows
At our casual dining venue, the Tiger Café, reservations are not required and there is no dress code. Just stop by after a golf game or a nature walk for an impromptu meal —anything as simple as a bowl of soup and rolls or a hearty salad, or if you've worked up an appetite, graze the Buffet.
In the recently renovated Nassau Room, enjoy a gourmet 5-course meal, either al fresco (weather permitting) or inside enjoying the beautiful view. BYOB (beer and wine) is welcomed in all dining rooms. Attire is "business casual" with neat "dress" jeans acceptable. Reservations required.
Your formal dining option at Windrows is the Princeton Room, reservations required. From Monday through Sunday all are required to wear, "business casual attire", with either a collard shirt or a turtleneck for men and skirt or dresses for women. Khakis, trousers, and corduroy are acceptable.
The Princeton Room has a warm and festive ambiance, perfect for an elegant meal, our always fine service, and a memorable evening. Be sure to make a reservation to celebrate a special occasion with guests or when you want to feel especially pampered.
In all dining rooms except the Tiger Café, "casual dress" precludes wearing torn or frayed jeans, flip-flops, water shoes, athletic apparel, halter, tank, or crop tops, sweatshirts, and baseball caps. Residents are expected to require their guests adhere to the dress code.
